SMS Terms of Service
Please read these SMS Terms of Service carefully. By providing your mobile phone number and opting in to receive text messages from CHOICE HOMECARE (“we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms, as well as our overall Website Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to these terms, do not opt in to receive text messages from us, or reply STOP at any time to cancel your enrollment.
1. Program Description and Purpose
CHOICE HOMECARE utilizes text messaging strictly for operational, scheduling, and care coordination purposes. Messages are exchanged between our staff/caregivers and our clients or their designated representatives.
- No Marketing: We will never send marketing, promotional, advertising, or sales-related text messages.
- Types of Messages: Communications may include appointment reminders, scheduling updates, caregiving coordination notes, employee shift confirmations, and urgent administrative alerts.
- Service Provider: These text messages are transmitted using our official business phone lines via our communication service provider, RingCentral.
2. User Opt-In and Consent
By checking the consent box on our website contact or intake forms, or by explicitly providing your mobile phone number during enrollment, you confirm that:
- You are the authorized owner or primary user of the mobile phone number provided.
- You give express consent to CHOICE HOMECARE and our personnel to send you operational text messages related to your care or employment.
- Consent to receive text messages is completely voluntary and is not a condition of receiving care services from us.
3. Message Frequency and Rates
- Frequency: Message frequency varies based on active scheduling needs, care requirements, and direct communication initiated by you or your caregiver.
- Cost: We do not charge a fee to send or receive text messages. However, standard message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier (e.g., Rogers, Bell, Telus, etc.) depending on your specific mobile plan. You are solely responsible for any charges incurred from your wireless provider.
4. How to Opt-Out (Stop Messages)
You have the right to revoke your consent and stop receiving text messages from us at any time.
- To opt out, reply STOP to any text message received from our number.
- After replying STOP, you will receive one final text message confirming that you have been unsubscribed.
- Please note that opting out of SMS may affect our ability to provide real-time scheduling updates or quick care coordination. If you opt out by mistake, you can text START or contact our main office to re-enroll.

- Security Limitations: Standard SMS text messaging is not an inherently secure or encrypted method of communication.
- Sensitive Information: While we use RingCentral to manage communications securely on our end, you acknowledge that text messages can be intercepted or viewed by unauthorized parties on your mobile device.
- PHIPA Compliance: In compliance with Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA), our caregivers and staff are instructed to limit the transmission of detailed Personal Health Information (PHI) via text. Please refrain from texting highly sensitive medical records or financial details.
- For more information on how we handle personal details, please review our full Privacy Policy.
